The Point To Life - by Kay
I could go on and on about my belief that God created me to follow His laws so that my soul may enter Heaven someday. I could also contradict that view by saying that there is no proof to God, and that He is nothing but balony. However, I don't like answering questions of how we came to be and humanity's purpose of being here. Besides, you all know I believe God exists, so there's no point in explaining my purpose on earth in that religious sense.
In a non-religious sense, I believe that our physical bodies exist as a balance for our spiritual bodies. Even if I lost my faith in my Lord (hopefully I never will) I will always believe there to be a spirit in every living thing out there. I just don't see how it is possible for humans to stay sane without a reflective, spiritual side. There have been many a philosopher who have begun their search for meaning because the materialistic THINGS of the world just don't seem to be the right factors of true happiness. It's true too; EVERYTHING physical deteriorates anyway, so I personally see no point in treasuring anything physical. However, add in the spice of our spirits, souls, what have you, and VOILA! Something you can hang on to for eternity.
So okay, that sounds like I'm looking for a sense of security. So? Who, somewhere along their lifetime, hasn't? It's only human nature for us to search for that eternal existance and reason. Why do you think? Gee, well, go reread the above paragraph then.
I'm getting sidetracked here.
Anyway, back to my physical-spiritual existance philosophy. People tell me that emotions are nothing but hormones and chemicals reacting and pumping through our veins. That is something else I cannot completely agree with. I believe that for every physical reaction occuring within us, there is a parallel to it in the spiritual dimension. For example, when one feels sad, a chemical is released to our brain that tells us that we are sad. In the spiritual world, our souls are just.. sad. No chemicals, no rah rah of biology, just a FEELING. A virtue. An emotion.
Now that I have that bit explained, I guess I should incorporate my believe in God and Christ in it as well.
God CANNOT be proven, so stop trying. He is in a dimension well beyond our comprehension and reach; don't even get to the point of arrogence where you're trying to understand it. We're human. There's no way our mediocre minds can understand the way the Divine works.
Incorporating God into my "parallel dimensions" theory, I believe that God overtakes the spiritual dimension and the virtues of love, companionship, etc etc are all in there with Him. Therefore, the spiritual side of us all will ALWAYS exist, even after death and after the universe collapses again. We exist in harmony with the Lord. Human existance is here to nourish our spirits and souls as best we can until our physical beings deteriorate. Our souls then either go to Heaven if we were good, or Hell if we were naughty.
*WHEW* that's one long passage. I think I got sidetracked, but my answer was kinda abstract and unfamiliar to most ppl so I had to explain it all for y'all to get it. I have my thesis written in bold.

This page used to be Vacancy, but then Grant bestowed ownership to Nathan, who doesn't even use this anymore.
What a poo. Let's argue on here.
